Larung gar or La Long, according to the Chinese pronunciation, or Narung in Tibetan pronunciation, is the World's largest Buddhist Academy. It is gracefully located in Sertar, the Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan, China.

As 'Narung' means 'willing to enter the monkhood', the people who enter here wish to devote themselves to the Buddhism.

Narung is situated at the height of 4,100 meters from the sea level. A long time ago, it used to be a part of the Tibetan Plateau, and now becomes the part of the Tibet autonomous area. However, the mass of Han people or the other ethnicities or the foreigners from all around the world come for the pilgrimage here as it is a source of knowledge and the core of Tibetan Buddhism.

Although Tibet is only a cultural area, the power of faith, in contrast, penetrates in every single space of this valley.

The Tibetan people who respect the Tibetan Buddhism earnestly immerse themselves to study here regardless to the hardship in the unpredictable environment on the high altitude.
